before this mod was released, i could never get any of the abusive sim’s moodlets to appear as they should. they would always just be ignored by the sims, or be activated when none of the other conditions were met, so i have replaced them all. i have also replaced the positive moodlets for all the abusive moodlets with new, more useful ones, such as happy, comfy, relaxed, happy, sleepy, happy, happy, comfortable, happy, happy, happy, comfortable, happy, happy, happy, happy.

the best trait to use for addiction is the perfectionist trait. this trait will add on two more interaction points to your sim, so they wont be as limited in what they can do. plus, as your sims get addicted, theyll gain mental health, which will help heal them as they get cleaned up.
