Federalism or Communism?

Which would you prefer?

I have not been so insulted since 2012 when they told me a U-tube video caused our people in the US consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi to be killed in an all out military shoot out, complete with rockets.

Or since they told me a mask would stop a virus from infecting me. Or since they said I should wear a mask while running outdoors. Or since they said I could keep my doctor. Shall I go on?

On May 11th, 2021, as though speaking to kinder gardeners, Department of Energy, Secretary Jennifer Granholm said in her most patronizing voice, “We don’t have a gas shortage. It’s a supply crunch.”

No Jennifer, the whole world is testing our new green administration and they are failing miserably. China is more aggressive. Russia is posturing. Iran is back in business providing weapons to Hamas who has rained down nearly 2,000 rockets on Israel in the past week. And somebody is sabotaging our infrastructure with ransomware to stop our gas pipelines.

Stay tuned to the southeast this week as they preview our green new future. Half of the gas stations in North Carolina are out of gas. Even if this thing gets handled, just wait to see how long it takes to return to “normal”. As if “normal” even has a meaning today. How long does it take to mount a windmill on a Ford pickup?

Biden canceled the new pipeline, now a “supply crunch” is teed up by an older pipeline being shut down. Texas froze because the windmills froze and gas prices are rising like my blood pressure. What is infrastructure if not the ability to deliver fuel and food? From one side of the mouth we hear, “infrastructure, jobs …” from the other side, “no more oil wells, no more pipelines…” This is a circus act playing out with no plot other than to crush the civilian population in this country. Or are they simply unqualified? Maybe both?

If I didn’t know better, I’d say there was a deliberate effort underway to undermine every facet of our society and economy. Inflation is taking off in anticipation of inflation. Did you see the latest consumer price report? People stay home and receive handouts. So they stay home. Meanwhile the work required to keep our country moving is being done by fewer people, worn out people. People on the verge of quitting. The criminals are taking over the cities like a bad Batman movie. And while Russians hack into a pipeline, our intelligence agencies are hunting down Trump supporters who might have been within 50 miles of DC on January 20th. Oh yeah, they’re after Rudy too. The guy who broke the mafia and saved New York City, then led the post 911 comeback. The good guys are being hunted and the bad guys are running free. Welcome to 2021!

Our genius Department of Energy Secretary, Jennifer Granholm may not realize that undelivered fuel is the same thing as a shortage. If the trucks are out of gas there will be no groceries. This entire country is interdependent, one system to the next. When our southern states come to a complete halt, what will be the repercussion?

All this leads me back to the fact that only an alert, intelligent electorate can keep a democracy working. The smaller the governmental body, the more effective. The more localized the authority, the more responsive it is to the citizens and the more fair it is. These are truths we have known for centuries, yet they are ignored in favor of a massive, bloated, central authority that says, “One size fits all.”

Should DC tell Montana how to herd cattle? Should Nancy Pelosi decide how Texas should run their elections? Should the Congress make laws for the county of Doverville in regards to traffic? No, no, and no!

We must return to more localized governing. The central authority will continue to limit your rights and opportunity the larger it gets. Federalism is the answer, and more and more states are coming to see this and responding. Good for them! https://guides.loc.gov/federalist-papers/full-text

FEDERALIST NO. 45

James Madison:

“ …. We have heard of the impious doctrine in the Old World, that the people were made for kings, not kings for the people. Is the same doctrine to be revived in the New, in another shape that the solid happiness of the people is to be sacrificed to the views of political institutions of a different form? ”

The Federalist papers were written in order to move from a confederation of states to a whole identifiable sovereign country called the United States of America. The papers urged the states to ratify the Constitution in order to form a more perfect government. A collection of states could not survive unless something unified them. Many of the difficulties that arose during the Revolution were proof of this. One of the primary issues of the time was self defense. How could separate independent states coalesce to defend the borders? What would compel Georgia to defend Massachusetts ?

A balance had to be struck with the “happiness” of the people being the prime motivation. The central government needed to be strong, but not oppressive. This is where the idea of a limited federal government came about, and the papers go to great length to debate exactly what the federal government’s role should be. Our founders knew that smaller units could deliver liberty to a far greater degree than a centralized authority. However, some principles must be shared among the states, lest they no longer be united. Slavery is the poster child for this point, and well taken by all after a century of strife.

But what has happened in the past 100 years? The federal government has become too big, too powerful, too invasive. Now, the communist party wants this power and are doing everything they can to assume control over every institution that we have created in good faith. It’s not that FDR wanted communism; it’s that expanding the size and authority of government has come back to attract it. It’s not that the Civil Rights laws intended to ruin the family unit, but that they have. We can no more blame our ancestors for lack of foresight than we can blame ourselves for being spoiled. But they could not see the future and we cannot see how good we have had it.

The blame game will get us nowhere. We need common sense and courageous leaders like never before in our history. We must re-balance our system of government, not re-imagine it. Shrink the Feds, strengthen the localities. But who has the will and strength to take on the monster? It will take an educated, intelligent electorate. Madison also said that liberty cannot exist in ignorance. (paraphrase)

Don’t believe me…..

NEWS: (good luck finding this on social media)

More than 120 retired U.S. generals and admirals signed an open letter warning that the United States is embroiled in an existential fight and urged “all citizens” to get involved in local and state politics.

“We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty,”

Again, that is a quote from 120 retired generals.

It is time to pay attention and get involved in your democracy. We do not need a government to tell us how to act and what to believe. Our government’s only job is to secure borders, protect and defend the citizenry, and to provide the necessary infrastructure for interstate commerce. All else should be left to local governments and the will of the people.

If you voted for the unqualified blood sucking followers of George Soros, I implore you to consider a return to Federalism and the shrinking of the central authority. I ask that you open your mind and compare a life of subjugation and longing to a life of risk and reward. There are no guarantees, and you only live once.

Only a resounding objection from the general public can stem the tide of this communist takeover.
