the install will ask you to restart; always follow the prompts. once the program has restarted, you will be prompted to enter your license. this is what i did but yours will differ, so that’s why i do the license first, before installing.

to change to the bin dir, type in cd “\jre-8u45-linux-x64/jre/bin” and press enter. then cd to a program called setjava (or what ever you want to call your programs) and then enter in the command start or run and enter in the path to the program

step 2: to download the sas war file, go to either the student or faculty/staff download page. read the sas license agreement and click i agree at the bottom, you will then be taken to a bu web login page. enter your bu username and password and press log in. if you get an error message or have trouble downloading, see our troubleshooting tips below.

to activate the java plug-in (for use with your browsers):

visit the java website
download the file.jar
extract the.jar file
copy the jre in the directory bin.
add the following line to the windows path: jre7.jar
restart your computer

Studies have shown that students using commercial software tend to be more satisfied with their academic experience in a computer science program. One reason they like this commercial software is that it is relatively simple and intuitive, which makes it easy for students to get up and running with the software. Commercial software tends to have a greater variety of features and functions. The variety and range of features that a student uses tends to be correlated with the amount of money they spend on software.
