Working with the Toolbox
The Toolbox is where many of the functions and tools are stored. Figure 4-6 shows the main Toolbox in Photoshop CS6. The Toolbox is located in the lower left corner of the screen and is divided into various tabs, with commands at the bottom of each tab. This section shows you the various ways to select and manipulate a tool.
Most of the commands you use will be in the Toolbox. In fact, the majority of the useful commands are in the Toolbox. A few functions, however, are not located in the Toolbox. The most important of these functions is probably the Undo function, which you can access in the History panel.

You can open the Toolbox in two ways. The first is through the main menus, which I cover in the next section. The other method is to hover your cursor over a command in the Toolbox and then click the drop-down menu on the menu bar to choose Show All Commands.
Selecting a tool with the mouse or cursor
As mentioned, many commands work only when you select a tool. When you select a tool, you highlight it and then click the tool you want to use.
Figure 4-7 shows the tools in the Toolbox, with the chosen tool highlighted. In this figure, the Brush tool (the large, round tool) is selected. Notice that the Brush tool is a drop-down menu
