Starting up their jet engine model is easy, thanks to the detailed explanation and step-by-step procedure. It takes only two pieces of paper and a ball-point pen to build a jet engine model. They firstly cut paper into the right shape and size to make the body of their jet engine. Next, they make a vane and propeller using a ball-point pen, and place them in the body. Then, they add more paper around the vane and propeller to create the casing for the engine. When they have completed the casing, it is time to attach the engine parts to the casing. The compressor, combustor, turbine, and nozzle are stuck to the top or front of the casing. The tail of the casing is flipped up so the nozzle is facing upwards. The engine is now ready to be started. When the engine is started, the air is compressed in the compressor, and then enters the combustor where the fuel and air is mixed together. The high-temperature combustion gases from the combustor will now drive the turbine which turns the compressor. So, the compressor is now in the air flow, and does what it is designed to do. When the airflow is strong, the compressor will run fast and turn a lot. This makes the engine to produce a lot of thrust. When the airflow gets weak, the compressor will run slower and turn less. This makes the engine to produce less thrust. Now the video will show the final part of our demonstration. The engine will now do a full 360 degrees, giving an idea of the thrust it produces.
