After arthrotomy and synovectomy, posteromedial capsulotomy was performed. The amount of correction was decided based on the thickness of the anterior medial cortex (2 mm, 3 mm, or 5 mm) with a high-precision MOW, and 2 mm with a lower-precision MOW. The mean amount of correction was 17.7° with the high-precision MOW and 14.5° with the lower-precision MOW. Thirty-six (81.8%) knees showed complete correction. At the final follow-up, the mean Lysholm knee-specific questionnaire score was 95.3. The average postoperative anterior laxity was 3.2 mm, and the mean postoperative anterior subluxation was 5.4 mm. Thirty-one (70.5%) knees showed no signs of recurrence. The mean preoperative tibiofemoral angle was 5.1° valgus, which was corrected to 0° postoperatively. The average preoperative posterior instability was 2.4 mm, which was improved to 0.7 mm postoperatively.
