About

Pads is a compact editor for the creation and editing of PCBs. It is based on free and open standards such as the IPC PADSLAW standard, the IEEE1471 standard for EDA and the ODB++ standard for PADS.

The IPC PADSLAW standard defines a PADS file format for libraries and library modules, including simple libraries like symbols and footprints, and more complex libraries with the option to use the PADS layout as a library module. The standard describes a modular library structure and an XML-based library definition file. PADS includes two libraries with example files. One library describes all the symbols and footprints in a library, while the other describes a slightly different variant of the standard.

The IEEE1471 standard defines a standard format for the EDA data in IPC PADSLAW and PCB files.

Both the PADS file format and the IPC PADSLAW are freely available on the IPC web site.

About

This is the revised version of a package that is no longer supported by the authors of PADS. It may still work, however, and it is provided here for backward compatibility reasons.

Note: the package includes a file for PADS Version 8. It is advised to remove this file prior to installing the package.

Do I need data structures in Java for arrays

I am learning Java and I was wondering whether or not I need data structures such as ArrayList or HashTable when working with arrays in Java.
E.g. for
int a[];

Arrays are already fundamentally data structures.
Generally your collection of things should be declared as a List.
private List stuff = new ArrayList();

And you’ll want to make sure you initialize your collection to a known size.
List stuff = new ArrayList(size);

If there’s a specific reason you don’t want to use a List, you can make your own. A HashMap would be one way, a LinkedList would be another. A LinkedList is generally used for concurrency, but you can make a similar list that works more like an array by using ArrayList and putting objects into your list by index.

Debugging run-time error class: method was improperly called, but my code seems fine

I am trying to access a class with a RunTime Error. But when I step into the line that cause the error, the Call stack window always shows no line numbers in the call stack, even if the line was in the same method as the error.

I have seen other threads with similar title, but they were always missing debugger data, or they were very old, for example In MS-Visual Studio 2012, you can use the error and warning functions such as Error(), Warn(), etc., to return some useful information including a source file name
