Resolve DNG’s are fine, but I’m seeking for the Best Resolve alternative out there.
Resolve Viewer (rental).Is the only option, or is there a cheap option out there?
Chromekit was the best i used to use, as well as the older Video Magic, but with recent updates to it, it no longer works for what i need. Tried MXMPlayer, but that has alot of “noise”, not smooth as chromekit used to be. I’m about to try it with Wine, and i’ll post my experience.

I use DaVinci Resolve 13 on my PC, and use Blackmagic Design’s Camera Monitor Pro for my software monitor. I use a USB to monitor, and an IDE to record.
I’ve been able to use DaVinci Resolve to record AVCHD (MP4) using the full Frame Rate (i.e. 24P & 50p). The full Frame Rate works great, but DaVinci (for the full frame rate) looks like a program made around 2007.
I’ve used Camtasia for past projects, and it has never looked bad. When I burn an AVCHD or MP4, it never looked bad either. Since Adobe makes both Camtasia and DaVinci Resolve, I’d think that both programs would look better, but they don’t.
DaVinci Resolve (without any FF plugins) just looks like it was made in 2007. If you remember how L.A. Noir looked in 2000, you know what I’m talking about.
I recently got a FF plugin, and one of the first projects that I did used that FF plugin. After this project, I tried DaVinci Resolve using the FF plugin, and there was a HUGE difference.
Normally I’d say that one program isn’t that much better than the other, but DaVinci Resolve is a program made around 2007. Looking at it, it reminds me of a program made around 2000, and it’s not even close.
If Blackmagic Design can’t make a program that isn’t sooo 1990’s looking, then perhaps they should stick to being a camera company, instead of trying to be a software company.
