Native Instruments Scarbee Rickenbacker Bass Crack
ive been using the scarbee rickenbacker for a few weeks now, and am quite impressed by its realistic, resonant tone. this is especially true in slap-up situations where you cant use your real bass, but want the authentic sound that a rickenbacker delivers. given that this is a virtual instrument, it really wouldnt have been possible to achieve a full range of overtones, but the way in which it has been set up makes this instrument perfect for pop and rock music. i couldnt resist the temptation to incorporate the instrument into some of my recent mixes, and it certainly delivers a punchy, punchy sound.
the first thing that struck me when i loaded the demo of the scarbee rickenbacker bass was that its really a stunning looking instrument. i wasnt sure whether i would like it or not, but it did look like a very unique and fun instrument. once i had installed the vst and created a sound bank i was impressed by its clean and crisp tone. im not a bassist but i was able to pick up the instrument and play it with ease. if youre a bassist with experience of the real thing then youll probably know what to expect, but if youre a new player then it could be a little tricky to get used to. the instrument is very expressive with the ability to play overdrive in addition to the more familiar slap, click, and pop sound types. there isnt a lot of ambience and the control of the velocity of the articulations is a little fiddly, but this wasnt an issue for me.
a skilled user of virtual instruments will find plenty to enjoy in the scarbee rickenbacker bass. the bank of articulations is extensive, and the tempo and key range is very useful for keeping to a tight musical structure. the sound is also well recorded, with a nice natural airiness that you dont find on many basses. of course, you have full velocity control, a very wide tonal palette, and all the different attack types you could want.
the scarbee rickenbacker is a high-end, perfectly playable bass. having a fantastic feel, it performs exceptionally well even in extremes of volume and frequency. imaginative and imaginative, it delivers up to 400w of output via a 50w per channel amplifier for the best possible performance and ease of use. the powerful hd600 digital audio interface, combined with the ever-popular mac os x environment, make the scarbee rickenbacker a very easy-to-manage bass. jbass features a variety of controls including a twelve-band graphic eq, delay, and chorus to add depth and dimension to the bass sound. without these, it would just be a great sounding and playable virtual instrument. as a perfect starter instrument, it also includes a full complement of gigbag and amp samples.
the new rickenbacker bass may lack a few of the physical features offered by some of the competition, but if youre after a bass thats still got plenty of character and chops, the scarbee is an excellent choice. there are plenty of options, with 12, 15 and 18 fret versions available with three different finishes; the ideal choice for the band on the go. the jbass app is well worth a download, with a wealth of further features including inbuilt effects, gigbag and amp samples. the app also offers midi and usb connectivity options for further expansion. im sure that theres a whole world of original scarbee bassists out there waiting to be discovered, and i for one cant wait to be among them.
when native instruments released their first bass in 1996, they did so with the intention of providing a very playable and affordable bass guitar for the masses. scarbee rickenbacker bass, is certainly that and more. its got a great sound, plenty of options, and its an extremely versatile instrument. if thats not enough, you also have the option of an optional amplitube to add more power to your bass. i can only assume that other bassists will discover this product as much as i have, and its not too difficult to see why. this is an excellent bass that has been brought to you by the people behind the j-bass, pre-bass and mm-bass virtual basses. it will be available from all music software and hardware stores worldwide.
