the main objective of the present project is to carry out an intensive empirical investigation to determine the major structural influences on the efficiency of diesel engines. the investigation is carried out on three models of the dfr type diesel engine and the analysis is done on a sample of 10 dfr diesel engines which are installed on a heavy duty goods vehicle (dgv) by niper, vellore. the present investigation helps in determining the input factors and output factors that play a major role in improving the efficiency of the engines. the present investigation will provide a basis for a further detailed investigation in determining the major structural influences on the efficiency of diesel engines. the empirical results of this investigation will provide a basis for the development of a computer simulation based model for diesel engines. the computer simulation model will help in developing the efficient operating strategies of diesel engines.

the present study aims to investigate the influence of operating conditions on the performance of a p&l-v&t diagram of diesel engine. this study is important to optimize the performance of the engine by analyzing the working conditions. the relationship between the operating conditions and the working parameters of a diesel engine is a very complex one. therefore, the study aims to investigate the relationship between the operating conditions and the performance of the diesel engine. the experimental design used is d-optimal methodology with latin hypercube sampling to study the performance of a diesel engine under different operating conditions.

the engine, gearbox, transmission, and electrical system are connected to a power source. the power source is supplied by electrical system which contains three main components. these components include power system bus, battery and vehicle generator. the engine is connected to the gearbox and transmission by the variable length shaft. the variable length shaft is connected to the gearbox by a torsion bar. the torsion bar is connected to the gearbox by a hydraulic actuator. the actuator is connected to the gearbox by a force-lock system. a variable-pitch propeller is connected to the engine by a reduction gearbox. the reduction gearbox is connected to the variable-length shaft. the variable-length shaft is connected to the gearbox by a mechanical coupler.
