I was wondering why you and your band have yet to be nominated into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame I know they have PLC guidelines, but just wondering what your spin is on it.

Thanks for asking, Ruth Roberts. Nominees are selected based on criteria that includes active touring, economic viability, and cultural relevance. We are currently receiving an album that will be available for purchase by the public around October 15, 2016. It will be released by Mims Music a new company with my brother, Mark Berry-Mims. The album includes a couple of new songs that I think you will enjoy hearing. The two best songs on the album are called Disco Padded Cell and You Got To Own It. Answer:
A: \”The Girl Can’t Help It\” released in 1953, in which Little Richard delivers a powerful performance of what was arguably the first rock and roll song, backed by some of the finest instrumental support of any song.
B: \”Good Golly Miss Molly\” (1955) is a precursor to Rockabilly. Richard lists his influences at the time as the Cadillacs and the Crickets, and Frank Slay & Jim Price.
C: \”Good Golly Miss Molly\” is backed with \”Lawdy Miss Clawdy\” on the same 45, on the reverse side. Richard says it was written by himself and Gene Morrison, and that he originally recorded it with the Crickets, but he never had clearance to release it.
D: \”I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter\” (1956) has Richard performing the classic rhythm \”Yeah!\” this time accompanied by a band with the fine rhythm section of Howard Biggs (alto sax), Chuck Blackwell (piano), Charlie Haden (bass) and David Allyn (drums).
