Windows 8 Charms Bar Free Download
You can see that when you click on Change Settings it is a blank screen with no options to select. The network shares will pop up when you click on the Windows Network in the bar at the bottom. These shares are explained in the next section.
Thankfully, with the release of Windows 8.1, this issue was finally addressed. You can now quickly and easily customize the Charms Bar. By default, the Charms Bar is hidden. Use the mouse to click on the Charms Bar icon on the task bar. Or, on newer versions of Windows 10, press the Windows logo key + C to access the Charms Bar (Windows 8+). From there, you can customize the Charms Bar. You can do this by toggling the active state of the Charms Bar via the button on the bottom left.
Open the Charms Bar via the Windows logo key + C, then click and drag an app or folder to the Charms Bar (Windows 8+). Alternatively, drag the Charms Bar icon on the task bar to the left. You can customize the Charms Bar by expanding the list of options on the right.
Figure E shows the Charms Bar in its default state. Figure F shows the Charms Bar in the expanded state. If you drag an item to the top of the Charms Bar, then the item appears there. If you drag a folder, then you can move the folder anywhere in the list of Charms Bar items. By default, the Charms Bar contains six icons. To customize these icons, click the icon in the Charms Bar that you want to customize. Then click the desired Charms Bar item.
In Figure G, I moved the Internet Explorer 11 folder to the top of the Charms Bar. Notice that I had to click and drag the Charms Bar down a bit to make room for the folder. You can also customize each Charms Bar item and even change their order. To customize an individual Charms Bar item, click on the Charms Bar icon and then click on the Charms Bar item that you want to customize (see Figure H). Alternatively, you can drag and drop the Charms Bar icons to reorder them. As previously mentioned, you can drag and drop items off of the Charms Bar and onto the desktop to move them.
