CAD standards

CAD software differs from other graphics design software in that it has standards. CAD users have long used the terms standards and formats interchangeably. A standard is a convention or a practice that is followed in a particular field. The term format is used for the storage of the information in the computer. The only CAD standards that the AutoCAD programs adhere to are those developed by DDA and ANSI. The DDA standards are for engineering and architectural drawings and the ANSI standards are for architectural drawings. Givat Shaul (, lit. Shaul Heights) is a neighborhood in western Jerusalem, Israel. It is bordered by Mamilla to the west and Beit Hakerem to the north.

History
Givat Shaul was originally a large tract of forest land. It was first used as a winepress, and later developed into an agricultural zone.

The new city of Jerusalem was founded in 1870–71, and the lands of Givat Shaul were included in the new neighborhood of “New Jerusalem” (Yerushalayim Hayyashar). During the course of the Second World War, the neighborhood, which was next to the British headquarters in Jerusalem, came under attack. In 1948, it was one of the areas established as a part of the State of Israel for the first time.

Urban development
Givat Shaul, which is about in size, was laid out along the western ridge of the Jerusalem Mountains, and includes several secular parks and nature areas, open space, and residential neighborhoods. The Jerusalem Prize Park is located in the neighborhood. The development of the neighborhood has been influenced by the upper class. In recent years the area has been experiencing a demographic shift, with a growing number of secular families moving to the neighborhood.

In 2000, the Jerusalem Development Company, a construction company owned by the Vaadia Foundation, began to develop Givat Shaul. The development plan is to build new neighborhoods and modern residential buildings along the Jerusalem Mountains. After years of disagreement, most of the residents were moved into new apartments.

The development of the neighborhood was delayed by the decision of the Jerusalem Development Company to build the new neighborhood of Neva on land close to the neighborhood, instead of in the hills.

Public transportation
The Jerusalem Light Rail passes through Givat Shaul, and stops at the Jerusalem Prize Park.

Yavneh College is located in the neighborhood.
