An aspect of Photoshop that is hard for the novice to understand is how to change the opacity of a layer or group of layers. This is commonly referred to as “locking” a layer or group. Here’s how to do this:
1. **Open the file you want to lock.**
2. **Click on the Layers icon at the bottom of the layer panel, and then choose Lock Layer from the menu.**
A dialog box appears, as shown in Figure 3-1.

You may also find that some or all of the layers in the file are locked.
3. **Click OK, and then save the file.**
4. **Close the file.**
The layers are locked. Now, whenever you want to edit the image, you can’t see the layers. No matter how many times you edit and save the image, the layers are still locked. If you want to edit the image and keep the layers visible, click the tiny image icon at the top-left corner of the Layers panel, or choose View > Show Layers, or press -Z.
You can also open the file in Photoshop Elements and lock layers there. In this version of Photoshop, the Lock Layers command is on the Format bar, where you can see it in Figure 3-2.

When it’s time to save the file, you’re given the opportunity to save a copy of the image without the locked layers. Unfortunately, it’s rather tricky to do this if the layers aren’t locked when you save the file for the first time. Photoshop defaults to saving a copy of the file with the locked layers. But if the layers aren’t locked, then when you close the file and save a copy, Photoshop doesn’t make any changes to the layers. Because of this, when you open the copy, you must first unlock the layers and then save it again. So if you’re going to save a copy of the file for a first-time user, ask him to lock the layers first.

The software has become more modern but you can still create high quality images for print.
What’s the difference between Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS6?
Photoshop Elements comes with fewer features than Photoshop. If you need to edit and create high quality images, Photoshop Elements is for you. But if you don’t need many features, Photoshop Elements is also a good choice.
Here are the features in common between the two versions:

The Fire At Bartoli At The US Open
The past two weeks, the tennis had been very exciting for all of us. But upstarts and hope to win the US Open are the French players.
Julie Girard had her best ever performance ever at the US Open. She played best tennis of her life and showed her strength up to the semifinals. After a disappointing loss in the 4th round against Sara Errani, she managed to overcome Jelena Jankovic in two sets. Then she faced her rival, Romina Oprandi in the Quarter Finals. Everyone expected that Jelena will have some more trouble after her upset in the 4th round, but it was the opposite case. Jelena’s plan to beat Girard by attacking with her passes and drop shots had worked in their favor.
Julie’s almost 10 years old career blossoms up in the US Open and she gave her best shot ever. Her game was so powerful, she raised her level, experience, and nerves. Her remarkable improvement at this match, she was more confident, she was able to hit with more ferocious power and accuracy. She managed to keep her nerve at every time she had to face a difficult ball. She showed her tremendous power and confidence by playing a perfect game, her first in the US Open.
After 20 minutes ajourn, Girard’s coach, Patrick Mouratoglou, was asked about his view of her performance. He replied, “This was the best match she ever played. I am proud of her. She has transformed her game this summer. She has improved a lot since her first Grand Slam performance at the Australian Open this year. She can have a good future ahead of her. I am so proud of her and the way she has advanced in the US Open, she is playing really good tennis at the moment.” The crowd was so happy for her.
