Install Photoshop and Lightroom

Before you can begin working with Photoshop, you must download it from Adobe’s website and install it on your computer. The downloads are easy to locate, but there’s a process to install. Read through the below instructions carefully before proceeding.

On the Adobe website, go to this site.

Click on the download button.

Download the zip file and extract it. This will download the installation files for Photoshop and Lightroom.

Once the files are extracted, look for a folder called Photoshop.

Download Adobe Lightroom

Note: Adobe Lightroom is a program that allows you to back up, organize, edit, and share your photos.

Go to the Adobe website.

Click on the download button for Lightroom.

Download the zip file.

When you unzip the downloaded file, you will see a folder entitled Adobe Lightroom.

Install the Adobe CS3 Extensions

If you are using Adobe CS3 for the first time, the extensions are a little different. Here is what you need to do:

Go to the Adobe website.

Click on the download button for the CS3 Extension.

You should get the zip file download.

Unzip the file and find the Adobe CS3 Extensions zip file.

Extract the zip file and install the extensions.

Now you’re ready to work with Photoshop!

Understanding the Layouts

Photoshop is organized into four different layers:

Layers

This is the last item in the layer hierarchy. You can access Photoshop’s layers from the Layers window, which is located on the right side of the top-most window.

The first layer in this window is usually the one that represents the layer in your file. The first layer in the window will always represent the top layer of your image.

The second layer in the window is the Background layer. The Background layer is usually your canvas to work on.

Changing Your Background Color

You can change the Background color by clicking the Color box in the Layers window and selecting a new color from the color palette.

To open a file in Photoshop Elements, you’ll need to click on the file in the menu bar. By default, Photoshop Elements opens a new file window.

If you want to close the current image, you need to press the Close button on the top left of the menu bar.

To save your image, click on File > Save… and you’ll open the Save dialog box. Click on Save and make sure you select the type of file you want to save the image as.

Different file formats are available for Photoshop Elements:

If you want to change the way a file looks, you can select different filters. These filters will change the way a file looks.

If you want to create a new file, you can click on File > New. For new files, you won’t be able to change the size until you’ve selected the size you want.

If you want to resize an image, you can select Edit > Transform > Resize.

You’ll be asked to choose the size you want.

You’ll also be asked to change the other settings like the rotation.

If you want to rotate an image, you can go to Edit > Rotate.

You’ll be asked to choose the direction you want the new file to be rotated in. If you want to flip an image horizontally, select Flip Horizontal. You can’t flip the image vertically because of the way image files work.

If you want to crop the image, you’ll need to select Edit > Crop. Then you need to select the area that you want the image to be cropped.

If you want to apply a new background, you can select Edit > Color > Background. You need to select

Ok so I have been using explorer a bit more than i thought, and i decided to pay a little more attention to my space, while i have another computer to do this type of stuff on, apparently when i have windows 7 setup to go to drive E:\ it actually shows E:\Free Space ( c:\ has the same thing ) and it works, if you want a good view the view all space free and then under the view tab look at the space icon, then set the view to show each drive, then you can do what you want (on my computer it shows all the space on E:\ )

I am sure there is a real way to do this and im trying to get into it, but i can’t seem to find it.

Thanks for the reply, well i changed my mind about that and went ahead and did it, it has less clutter and alot easier to see what each drive is.

On the other computer i was talking about earlier, i used the Disk Clean up, and it was smart enough to delete the giant logs folder (security logs, etc).
