Client Case Workflow:
The client case workflow is provided through Microsoft Project. This allows the user to accept or reject the proposal based on due date completion and duration, check status information, add comment or assign values to a project proposal, assign it to a project plan, update project plan tasks and assignments, and specify a due date when a due date is not being captured.
The client case workflow is executed from within Microsoft Project.
Sub-process Workflow:
The client case workflow can also represent a sub-process workflow, which allows the user to link the workflow to the main process. This is useful if a client case needs to flow through one or more previous or subsequent processes or sub-processes that are being captured.
Workflows can also be looped for repetitive client case workflow.
Assignment Tracking:
This allows the user to associate a client case work items with a Microsoft Project task, which can be removed when the client case work item is completed.
Assignments can be assigned a value; assigning a value to a work item signifies that it should be in the completed list of that project as well as being assigned to a task.
Note:
The Project Designer will only deal with Microsoft Project 2007 Standard. Microsoft Project 2007 Professional is not supported.
Installation
Download the sample project. Open the sample project in Microsoft Visual Studio. It will then be possible to create and load a project into Visual Studio.
Notes:
Requires Microsoft Project 2003 Standard.
To change the start value to 0, modify the Microsoft Project Start Value property in the Project Settings window.
All clients must have the sample project installed to work correctly.
Run the sample project. This will open a project in Microsoft Project. It will also open a list of all client cases.
Tracking values:
The Project Designer allows values to be associated with tasks. When a client case is added to a project, or a task is added to a project, it can be assigned a value.
The values can be assigned to the project once the client case workflow has been executed.
