    I got the game for review, and was impressed from the start. The music and graphics are exceptional. A character creation screen and tutorial helped me get set up with the controls, so I could get into the game immediately. World design: There is very little in terms of objective markers or point-of-interest on the world map. All I have to do is kill all the monsters for a quest. I can’t imagine many people would have much fun with the game if there was a checklist of objectives to follow. In a game where bosses are in some cases worth eating, there was an interesting strategy, and I did enjoy the effect of eating on my health bar. Also, the game’s plot-lines are introduced primarily through conversations with the other characters. By the time I was playing multiplayer, I was already familiar with the story, though the details didn’t seem to matter too much. Controls: As most of you know, I am not a fan of the controller, so I couldn’t play this game with the PS3 controller. The gameplay was fine, but the convenience of being able to just use a keyboard was a boon. The point of the controller is to launch attacks, which was difficult to do via keyboard. I ended up giving it up, switching to an Xbox 360 controller. Multiplayer: Paired with 2 other people through Xbox Live, I’m already a fan of the online component of the game. You can instantly connect with another player and continue playing. I’ve found myself playing for over an hour in multiplayer matches, while waiting for friends to join, and still having fun.
