It is one of the few early titles that I can think of that has a seriously fantastic art style. As a 15 year old kid it just blew me away. Being able to be a God is a pretty unique concept, but from what I have seen it is very satisfying. I would really like to see some hard/rare enemies. I found all the enemies to be very easy. Harder enemies would make the game much more challenging for me. In my opinion being able to upgrade your equipment is a great concept and I love the idea of additional upgrade categories. It is one of the few FF games I have played that I would like to see more of. In my opinion story telling with in-game screenshots is pretty lame. For me the story is told a lot better in books (specifically when I play a book-based game), with me having to pick up the book and then find more info on the pages. Tarnished is very flashy though, so it was fun to just jump right into and not worry too much about the story. The first thing I noticed about Tarnished is the art style. It is one of the most beautiful examples of a video game. I thought I was going to have to play this one on a full 4k monitor, but it looks really good no matter what I have it on. Tarnished is a pretty deep RPG, but it is very simple. The combat system is basic RPG based combat. You level up in a number of ways, you go to the towns, you level, you gain experience, you level up, rinse and repeat. I would like to see more character development. There are so many RPG’s with so many different paths to happiness, I really just don’t see a reason to choose that one way. Tarnished is not the deepest RPG, but I do think it is one of the most satisfying ones I have played. It has some impressive combat and is quite a bit of fun to just get into.
