the three sets weve been speaking of have probably made most of you aware of the idea of complete-album sets, and weve mentioned them several times, but this is probably the most ambitious set of them all. the complete faces box set contains the albums the faces, after the last waltz, and raise the roof – three albums that are normally regarded as classic works of the psychedelic era. while this set also contains material from blonde on blonde, all of my love and the best of rod stewart, these songs arent really about love, theyre about drugs and the girls that rockers couldnt get enough of before they realized they should be in college. the first three faces albums have a lot of everything, but the only major track thats missed on all three is the title track, which is one of the best songs theyve ever written. however, the fact that weve been talking about it for years and there is a good chance that you havent heard it speaks volumes to how good a song it is.

after the faces boxed set, stewart released in the studio in 1981, but the track list is absolutely horrendous. the tracks on the album were chosen to showcase some of the greatest songs he had recorded over the years, and while he did write many of them, none of them are of the quality that weve come to expect from him. no songs from in the studio were even included in the rod stewart and faces live at the bbc set, but we will mention them anyway, as this is a decent set if youre a completist.
